It only took us ten years, but we're finally releasing an "over vintaged" wine. We set aside a few barrels of Syrah from the Steelhead Run Vineyard in the Applegate Valley last year that were just too expressive to blend away, and now after 16 months in neutral oak barrels, we bring them to you. Time in barrel has added a satisfying weight and texture to the wine, while the vibrant floral and spice components have further refined and developed. If you've found our more typically fresh forward wines to be consumed too quickly for your Uncle Frank to have time to dust off his snifters and find "Syrah" in the glossary of An Elegant Gentleman's Guide to Fine Wine, I think we finally have an offering to be pondered and extolled.
